Position Description

This position requires a Exploration/Exploitation Geoscientist to work on the company's Marcellus Shale project in Pennsylvania and New York. Considerable experience with unconventional plays and a "manufacturing" project/business approach is preferred. The ideal candidate with have 5+ years of experience in Unconventional Resources, with emphasis on the Marcellus, Barnett, Woodford, Fayetteville, or Haynesville Gas Shales plays essential. The position will require a good understanding of petroleum systems, regional geology, subsurface mapping, core analysis for unconventional Gas Shale plays and horizontals drilling operations.

ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluate and develop the company's Marcellus acreage position during the exploration/developments phases of the project
  2. Provide regional Play and Prospect Mapping to identify "best locations"
  3. Oversee vertical and horizontal drilling operations
  4. Interact with JV partners on technical issues and prioritizing drilling and seismic operations <

Dalton Boggs & Associates is conducting a search for a Senior Geoscience Technician for a privately held oil and gas company in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This individual will manage and map a wide variety of land, geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and well data, as well as maintain and manage oil and gas data. In addition, the Senior Geoscience Technician will be responsible for maintaining and managing GIS and portions of the associated databases, management of the oil and gas data room, and other data management functions necessary to support the oil and gas department objectives.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years experience in the oil and gas industry including Louisiana and Gulf Coast, with experience specifically in geoscience, engineering, GIS, or technology.
